Haircut

I don't know what it is about General Conference and hair. We too had an incident, Kristi. I was just sitting listening to conference in my computer room and they girls walked by to say they needed to go to the bathroom. Well I thought that was pretty neat that Ally was taking Andie, as she is learning to use the toilet. Well they were in there for awhile. I thought well they're both doing some business so I'll give them time. Then I heard a slight noise in the kitchen. They have played "cook" in the kitchen so silly me thought that that's what they were doing. Then I heard the dishwasher start. I called Ally in to tell her to turn it off, still not noticing anything awry. She ran back in but didn't turn it off, so I got up to turn it off and that's when I saw the pile of hair in the garbage.


Yes, in the garbage. She had cut off chunks of her and Andie's hair and placed them in the garbage. I saw this and sat down not knowing if I should cry or laugh my head off. One of the first things she said was "Mom, it'll grow back" later she told Jeremy she was trying to make her hair look like mommy's. We had been talking about getting her hair cut as well. I just didn't think it would be like this. One of the first things Andie said was "Mom, Ally ruined my hair". Oh yes, she did. I had planned Andrea's Halloween costume around her hair thinking that it would be safe. I had bought a pattern off eBay and am now currently sewing it. She was going to be Rainbow Brite with her long blond, big banged hair, but I don't know if that's going to work now. GRR!

Here is the top of Andie's head where Ally cut a chunk pretty close to the scalp.

She also got a bit at the sides.

Here's Andie at the salon.

Here's the front after, she ended up covering it up because there wasn't really anything she could do.

Here's the back, she ended up layering it so it look a lot better.

Now onto Ally.
This is how long Ally's hair was. Andie's is about 2 inches shorter than Ally's just to give you an idea of how drastic a cut it was.

This is the back of her hair after the salon. Our stylist did a really good job for what she had to work with. She said at one point. "Man she just cut at all the vital spots, didn't she?".
