Ally's first....

Ally's first day of school......ever. This is the day that commences her school career. She goes to Discovery Elementary School and loves it. She doesn't like the waking up early part though. At the time of kindergarten round-up I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and thought, "hmmm, I'll be awake every morning, I'll stick her in the AM session. That way school will be over and done with for the day so if we ever need to go anywhere she'll be done at 11 instead of 3." I guess I was being egocentric at the time and had no thought of what would work best for her. Ally is not a morning person. We even bought her this really nice princess castle alarm clock for her birthday, she sleeps right through Cinderella's songs. So far she hasn't been too grouchy with me yet, although it has come close on a few mornings. I tried to switch her to PM but there are more kids in PM than there are in AM so that was a no go. She comes home everyday excited about what she's learned that day and loves her teacher and is making new friends so I guess the whole thing has turned out alright. Here she is cheesing it up August 31, her first day of school.

Ally's first missing tooth. It freaked me out a little. It was slowly migrating to the left and twisting just a bit so I told her to come closer so I could get a better look and tell her to stop trying to open things with her teeth and that's when I saw it move. I thought I'd have another year before her teeth starting falling out but nope. 2 weeks after I discovered the loose tooth it came out. We were at Sam's Club having lunch and it just fell right out. I stuck it in the wipes container and the tooth fairy visited that night. Now she has another loose tooth right next to the one that's missing. Maybe her 2 front teeth will come out later and that's all she'll want for Christmas, it is coming up. Here's hoping.

What a cute smile, Jonas! I love it! It's so hard to send our babies to school. Just think.. There are tons of studies that have proved that kids that go to school earlier in the day actually pick up learning faster. Who is her teacher?
